Can I start doing anything for my gardening now?

Hi!
I know it’s only February, but I’m anxiously awaiting gardening season. (Vegetable gardening, that is.) I’m wondering if there is anything I can start doing in preparation for my garden now or soon. I live in New England, so of course there’s snow. But are there any plants that should be started inside, or anything else I can start working on? I’ll be selling a lot of my vegetables, too. Thanks for your help!

I have crab grass and other nasty weeds growing throughout my lawn and in my flower beds, is there anything I can use to treat both the weeds and crab grass that wont harm the lawn or flowers?

Is there something specific to use in flower beds?

I want to grow herbs for cooking and teas in small containers on an indoor window ledge. I do not know where to begin. Where can I find supplies or a starter kit? Any tips?

me and my three friends are going to hallowscream in busch gardens and my two sisters want to come. they are 11 and 12.

How to get light for plants inside my room?

I’m growing some plants inside, I open my blinds to give the plants some light everyday but was wondering if the glass from my window, which I don’t open due to the fact that it’s winter, might block out certain types of light that the plants might benefit from.

Also, would a heat lamp or something like that help them as well? Could this lamp be dangerous to me?

Any other comments feel free to post. Thanks a ton.

When I bought my home the previous own left about 200 industrial drainage tiles with blue ceramic tops (various rectangle sizes). I am currently landscaping my property using all of the stones from an old barn, bricks from a chimney taken down and old barn wood to make raised garden beds.

Does anyone have ideas of how to use the drainage tiles to add to my landscaping?

what seeds should i buy for my vegetable garden?

How to Mulch a Garden

Gardening doesn’t have to be a lot of work, especially if you use mulch in your vegetable and ornamental beds and pathways. Mulch is a huge garden timesaver because it helps prevent weeds, reduces the need to water, moderates soil temperatures, adds organic matter to the soil as it breaks down and helps your garden look tidy.

iam looking for ways to promote gardening groups that ive formed for the UK and Ireland, the USA,worldwide and one for arkansas, does anyone have any promotional idea’s?,if so please provide the links.

I want something vine-like with flowers to wind around some columns or a trellis arch; flower petals down the aisle, and a few floral arrangements on the side of the rows (every other, every third row?)

Also, how tacky would it be to have silk flower petals and silk floral vine for the columns or arch? And real flowers for the rows?

He has taken cloths from my laundry room, a garden hoe, pool supplies, chairs and other stuff. my land lords lives in front of us and his father house is also in front of ours. we let the landlord know and he just apologized and said his dad is carzy and he will talk to him. is there a law for this stuff

Grubs are mature. Grass seeds will be replacing tall fescue patches I have removed. I always use Scotts Winterizer and wonder if it will be too much for the grass seedlings. The grubs NEED attention now. Would I be wasting time planting grass before I get rid of the grubs?

How to induce flowering in coffee plants?

I have bought 24 coffee plants, as houseplants. I believe they are 2-4 years old. I need to know how to trigger flowering? I know some plant’s flowering is triggered by reduced lighting or by watering patterns, but I cannot find any information about coffee plants. Please help me?

I want to visit the park, in the second week of January, 2010. I have been to Walt Disney World at this time, and its packed to capacity. Will Busch Gardens Williamsburg be nearly empty, or full of crowds and long lines?

Thanks!

So I have a serious weed problem. Every year I pull and pull and it looks clean for about 2 weeks then BAMN, 2-3 ft tall weeds in my landscaping, and fast, and everywhere. It’s absolutely overwhelming. We even have this really nasty one out front that grows to over 2 stories and completely overtook a tree (we had to cut down the whole thing, and I poured an entire bottle of extra strength roundup… the tree is dead, the weed is back.) How do I get rid of these nasty 2-3 feet perennial suckers without killing the rest of my landscaping? Tarp and mulch hasn’t worked… I’m assuming that the weed seeds might have spread to the mulch itself — I’m ready to WD-40 and salt my entire yard. Help!

I’m looking to treat cedar wood for my raised vegetable garden before I fill in with dirt to help preserve it. I’m wondering if using wood stain is going to be a bad idea as I don’t want chemicals leaching into the garden contaminating the wood. Any suggestions on what to use or if I should just leave it?

My hobby is gardening but my knowledge about gardening is very poor. I want to enhance my knowledge regarding it.

Hi, Well here is the thing, I live in Oregon, but I will be getting maried the first week of August in Southern Caligornia and i dont know what kind of flowers are available during that time, please help!

please explain.

have heard for example that leylandi cypress trees grow very shallow roots and are likely to suffer from wind damage, and was wondering if planting them in a very wide but slightly raised bed would help them to grow deeper roots and become more firmly established.

please explain.

Thanks for your answers!

It seems that an old Wal-Mart or Sears, with 20-25 foot ceilings would have plenty of infrastructure to supply many two-story dwellings, with atria and interior gardens, while providing enough parking outside for everyone. Soooooo, what’s the hold up?

I would like to do my landscaping this week, but is it too soon? I live outside of Philadelphia.

Hi,

I want live plants for the fish tank, as I believe they help. So….

Do Java Moss and Java Ferns need lighting- my tank is going about a meter- at most- behind a window……
