I live in northern Sacramento County and it is sprayed nightly for west nile virus. I have a substantial vegetable garden, and I wonder about any side effects the spraying does has on my garden. I hose it down every morning.
My wife and I just bought a house. How much time and money would one have to invest in maintaining a modest amount of landscaping without the assistance of a landscaper?
I really dont know anything about gardening. But I would like to know what flowers are both pretty and smell good, how to properly weed, how to keep bugs off, and diffrent flowers.
My school took the whole 8th grade class to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay last Friday, and I have to put a short video together of all of our pictures and videos we took there. What would be a good, upbeat song to play during it? It would be better if it had no words, but if it does, they have to be completely clean. Thanks!
I’m wanting to do some gardening crafts this spring and the only thing i can think of to do is some stepping stones (i know how to do these). I don’t have a lot of money to spend, but i’m wanting cute, easy and cheap ideas to help spruce up my yard.
thanks for your input!
Yes i water the plant, and no, i do not over water the plant. Yes the plant gets some sun. I get tropical plants, and even bought plant food for the new plant, but he is not doing good at all.
The last plant i got was healthy, then all of a sudden he got weak, and then i noticed bugs that looked like centipeads (spelling?), where did these bugs come from?
According to HR875 and S425 Oraganic Farmers and Backyard Gardeners will have to use the same genetically modified seeds and spray the same Corporate back pesticides as the corporate farming conglomerates if they wish to grow food…

I have some seeds that I kept from last years garden and want to use them for this years garden. When should I start them so they’ll be ready for planting this spring. I have tomato, squash, zucchini seeds.
We just purchased a second home that we are renting out. We are renovating the lower level as a second rental apartment. What can we write off on our taxes next year against this property? We live in Ontario, Canada. Can we right off garden supplies as well?
I’m doing some landscaping next to my house and its a long stretch and I need to put a couple trees in that are small. Any suggestions, I live in Illinois if that helps.
I’ve been wanting to start a vegetable garden for a while now, and I’ve decided to finally do it this year, due to the economy. My question is, where do I start? I’ve been researching it, and it seems really complicated. The extent of my experience of working in a garden is putting out grass seed. Any tips or links would be appreciated.
EDIT: I live near Dallas, Texas.
I planted some flowers and then it suddenly turned cold. My flowers are drooping and beginning to look like they’re dieing. How do I save them? I don’t know what kind of flowers they are.
I planted them in the ground.
This is my third day of playing and I’m about to leave on that one ship after beating the Crucible. The game said to take care of whatever I wanted to before I left. I’ve pretty much bought all the property available and have done all of the quests available, but I can’t find Fairfax Gardens to do the Archaeologist Quest. Can someone tell me how to get to Fairfax Gardens? And also any other main things that I should do before leaving?
I just bought a house with great gardening beds. The only issue is I’m new to gardening and would like to get rid all the plants currently growing there to add new ones. I’d like to pot the rosemary instead of having it on the bed because it seems so invasive. The tomato plants seem to be done for the season. Do I pull them? There are also strawberries, thyme, and others I have no idea what they are.
I am growing some mini lettuce and two grape plants, and i was wondering if you had ANY suggestions for fertilizer…thanks… all help is appreciated.
yes, it’s winter here in canada, too, but i have them indoors next to a window.

Okay so this is what happen. Someone told me that if I throw soil on top of my grass that my grass will die and won’t grow anymore. Well that didn’t happen! My back yard is big! I did 40yrds worth of landscaping and now grass is growing thru all my landscaping! How can I get rid of the grass underneth my landscaping w/ out digging up all my plants and garden soil? I’m soo stressed out and just don’t know what to do anymore.
My sister and I are planning on planting a small vegetable garden in our yard, so far we know what to do to get rid of grass and such. But we’re worried about attracting vermin, we have a lot of mice and possum in the the summer as well as birds. The city just shut down it’s program for keeping the city free of rats and mice… and we just got rid of an infestation of mice in our house. Would this be inviting the vermin into our yard and possibly our house?
I need to know the the historical significance the Hanging Gardens have made towards art?
I have tried several beautiful flowers in my flower beds in front of my house but they just don’t last in this Florida heat even though I water them well in the evenings. What flowers can I plant either annuals or perenials that will last in our heat?

I want to have an organic herb garden. But because I have waited too long is it ok to buy starter plants that have a bit of pesticide used on them and never use pesticides again? Does the pesticide wash off? Can I just pinch off the part that had the pesticide used on it?
using the herbs for organic flavored oils
