Iron oxide and organic garden?

I was cutting some steel poles in my backyard. Now there is a lot of rusted iron oxide lying on top of the dirt. Is this bad? I am planning on planting vegetables there and eating them. Is the iron oxide rust bad? I can remove it right now, before I plant, if it isn’t a good idea to leave it there.
So it is not dangerous. Thanks Rocky.

So this girl invited me to her nutcracker ballet recital and I want to get her flowers for after the show. I kinda like her, but don’t want too be to assertive and such, what kind of flowers should I buy? I was kinda thinking orange/reddish roses, but I think just red seems way too strong. It doesn’t even have to be roses too. Any suggestions? FYI this is highschool. Thanks.

im in chandler az….and would like to start a vegetable garden…. i plan on planting various vegetables and will plant them in different locations of the yard if need be. if i was planting cucs, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, broccoli…..what kind of sun do they need?

We have a house that is 8 months old. The landscaping slopes down toward the house and holds water against it instead of draining away as it should. This not only happens when it rains but even if we run the sprinkler. I’ve heard two people recently say they had black mold in their fairly new homes because of problems with landscaping dirt or mulch against their house. That is why I’m concerned that we both correct the slope to drain away from the house and bring the dirt to the proper height on the house! Does anyone know the answer or can you tell me where I can find out?
Also, yesterday we pumped out the storm shelter in our garage floor because we discovered it was 2/3rds full of water. It may have been that way for awhile because the garage floor has flooded several times over the last two months. We have pumped it out and will get someone to correct our drains but should we wash the storm shelter walls with something or be concerned about mold?

It has been raining about 5 days out of 7 here. Does that make a difference to how often container plants should be fed?

My neighbour has two 18 foot fir trees in his garden. Our gardens are only about 20 foot square and these trees are blocking out nearly all our sun. We are in UK.

do you have an picture of planting potatoes?

I want to know if you guys could help me out?! I need to see pictures of planting potatoes. I want the name of potatoes to go with the picture that you guys could fine.

Does anyone have a template for excel or word they use for planning their square foot gardening?

one specific area? They are against the back of my house on one side of the sliding glass door, an area about 10-12 feet long and about 3-4 feet wide. I want to use something like chicken wire, but not chicken wire because I think it might look pretty tacky, to keep them all in the area where I want them and not hanging or sticking out too far? I am really really not a gardener at all and we just moved into a house with roses, I do love them but haven’t a clue what to do or how to do it. Also, do I need to buy more if I would like to do the same thing on the other side of the door or is there a way I can grow more from my exsisting supply? Ugh, I know to all the gardeners or gardening hobbyists I sound really stupid, but I seriously have never had any experience, I have always lived in an apartment. Thanks!
Thank you sweetie, ok o!

I am stuck on the part with finding the vegetable garden. There have been similar questions asked around but every answer to them includes getting off the horse at some point. But how DO you get off the horse?

I live in Las Vegas, and we do not have a garden area. I would like to grow some flowers in pots and keep them on the patio. What flowers would be good for that? Our patio gets bright sunshine AND plenty of shade.

What plants do I crossbreed to get this magic plant I have all the others and cannot get this.

Oops, I just used potting soil instead of planting mix outside when I planted my Canna lily and Crocosmia Lucifer. I mixed 1/2 existing soil and 1/2 potting soil. Will they live or should I dig them up and replant them? Thanks.

It’s that ride where you stand up when you initially get on but then, it lies you down on your stomach.

Also what’s your favorite roller coaster in Elitch Gardens.

I’m wanting a new book or two on gardening, and one that has a bit of focus on houseplants and overwintering plants indoors. I’m also thinking about one with details on starting from seed and propagating. Which books are the most informative, with in-depth information and tips? I need something that will be useful to me in a cold climate.
Any links to good sites are also appreciated. I’m looking for a book, a hard copy, something that I can read in bed or when the internet’s out.

I am a graduate student preparing a business plan for a landscaping company. With this I have run into a sort of dead end concerning revenue during the winter months. I am trying to figure out what the company might do during the winter time when landscapers can not work.

I want to add sand to my soil. It is very clayey. I can buy sand, or I can get some for free. The free sand was used under a pool liner. They used chlorine in the pool water. Will this hurt my vegetable garden? Can I just rinse it out of the sand?

I watched Platinum Weddings last night and there are so many flowers that are extremely expensive. What happens to the flowers after the wedding is over? Do they get thrown out?

These plants include boxwoods, shrub roses, lilacs, trees, etc. I will be ripping out old plants and this will be a complete renovation, but freezing temps will be here soon.

How do I prepare soil before planting bulbs?

I haven’t had good luck when planting bulbs. The green leaves would grow. But I don’t get many flowers and when I do, they only last a few days. Sometimes I get buds that die before they bloom. My yard is semi-shaded. I live in Eastern North Carolina. Do I need to fertilize or do something to my soil?

I’m a beginner at gardening and don’t know what flowers and plants look nice together or how to plant them. So I am looking for a site that has examples of gardens and points out what kind of flowers and plants were used. I found Burpee.com which sells a kit but I am looking for something more detailed. It doesn’t even need to be a plant selling company. Or maybe a web site of experts that i can send a picture to and could label the flowers.

I was recently in Paris and went running in the Gardens in the morning and would like to know the general pace at which I was going. I am not interested in the distance around the park on the sidewalk outside the fence but the distance along the outmost paths within the garden. I believe that it is a 1.3 miles but want to know if there is any official distances out there or if anyone has measured themselves.
