Has anyone ever tried lasagna gardening?

I’m wanting to make a garden and my mom is being a pain and wanting me to do this thing she read about called "Lasagna gardening"
Its suppost to be really easy, no digging, tilling or weeding. But it seems to good to be true has anyone tried it?
Lasagna gardening is basically layering things such a news paper, peat moss, compost, manure, grass clippings, leaves and other things. It has NOTHING to do with the food.

Landscaping ideas?

I’d like to use an organic fertilizer. I have poor soil. =[

Hi, I’m doing a experiment testing how the chemicals inside greywater affect the growth of plants. But I never garden before and know nothing about plants, so I need help finding few representative (average of many plant characteristics altogether) plants. Please leave some suggestions.

I would like to grow a vegetable garden, but…?

…I have a poison ivy problem. I live in the Mid-Atlantic.
First, how do I get rid of the poison ivy problem without harming the surrounding vegetation and soil?
Second, does the land need time in between the eradication of the poison ivy and propogation?
Third, should I use any composting material after eliminating the poison ivy or will this be irrelevant with regards to the poison ivy? And…
Fourth, how concerned should I be about this poison ivy problem in light of beginning a vegetable garden? After all, the vegetables are going to eventually go into the stomachs of my family and I am concerned for any poison ivy "residuals".

Please, only serious responses will be welcomed and professionals/educators are a bonus.

Thank you.

can you help with this gardening fiasco?

My mother and i were gardening outside when she ripped out a small plant which we were covering with weed block. We discovered seconds after that it was a bay leaf plant. Is it possible to regenerate the plant by putting it in soil and adding some special formual to make it grow roots i’ve seen it done on a gardening tv show before. I just can’t remember what they did.

I live in Kansas

It has to be Eden Gardens,Kolkata.

It is India’s most historical cricket stadium. One of the oldest cricket stadiums. The atmosphere in the Eden Gardens is always electric.

It’s a dream of every cricketer to play a game at Eden Gardens in front of 1 lakh people. There is no comparison of Eden Gardens with any other stadium.

What do you think?

Wankhede is nothing in front of Eden Gardens.

If I started planting seeds in pots, would they be just the right size to transfer them into a garden when it is warm out? I live in Wisconsin so there is still snow on the ground. I don’t want to pot seeds too early if they will be too big to be in the house before the time is right to plant them into a garden.

How often do you water vegetable garden beds?

Hello!

I have some 1 foot tall, 8 foot long by 2 foot wide garden beds filled with compost. They are planted with all sorts of vegetables – carrots, watermelons, tomatos, cucumbers, peppers.

I have drip irrigation running down the middle, plus I have the overhead hose option.

I live in Portland, OR where it is sunny and dry all summer.

My question: How often and how much do I water the garden beds?

Thank you very much!

Whats your favorite gardening magazine?

Ive been thinking of subscribing to some magazines, I don’t know much about gardening but I’d like to start one next spring, vegetables and flowers, and I’ll prolly be planting some stuff this fall too (tulips! maybe other stuff too?)
