I live in an apartment however, so only potted plants are what i can do at this time, both indoors and out.

I want to start a small garden and grow squash, zucchini, corn, tomatoes, peas, watermelon, and morning glories. The tomatoes and peas and 1 pot of morning glories would be on my porch. The rest would be around my trailer. I was planning on using morning glories as a bug repellent. What are some other natural bug repellents? I don’t really like the idea of using chemicals.

The pool is L shaped and had 2.5 feet of concrete totally around and then about 3 or 4 feet of dirt and then theres a fence. Whats a low maintenance idea for landscaping around the pool?
I had rocks there before. Im looking for something different.

Inside the White House: The Kitchen Garden

First Lady Michelle Obama and White House chef Sam Kass tell the story of the first garden on White House grounds since Eleanor Roosevelt’s Victory Garden during World War II. This new garden was planted in the Spring of 2009 with the help of local elementary school children and has yielded a constant supply fresh produce for the First Family and White House events. To the right of the walkway there’s a soil bed we’d like to fill since we tore out these horrible bare halff-dead bushes that used to be there. There’s an area to sit behind the soil bed with a swing and there are colonial pillars as well. We’d like something low enough that we can still see the street, etc. Any ideas?

Does anyone know any good gardening sites?

I need a site which shows the seedlings because I have planted lots of veg and something is sprouting but cos it’s my first time I can’t tell the weeds from the veg!!!I know!Thicko! but really I have been looking for sites with lots of pics but didn’t find much.

My next door neighbors are having a new roof put on their home. The falling rubble is destroying my landscaping -it’s a foot deep on my property, stretching 20 feet from the house next door onto my property. What, if anything, are professional roofers supposed to be doing to protect other peoples’ property from damage? I’ve lost a whole garden so far.

For Example:

1. Put sand down around your plants to keep the slugs away.

2. Get Free used grounds from starbucks for your compost pile or use to amend soil.

Please share your tips . . .

What is an easy way to start gardening?

I will return home at the end of July and would like to start some sort of gardening project in August. But I have never done any kind of gardening/landscaping. I have no idea what kind to buy and plant. I am completely clueless.
