How to get light for plants inside my room?

I’m growing some plants inside, I open my blinds to give the plants some light everyday but was wondering if the glass from my window, which I don’t open due to the fact that it’s winter, might block out certain types of light that the plants might benefit from.
Also, would a heat lamp or something like that help them as well? Could this lamp be dangerous to me?
Any other comments feel free to post. Thanks a ton.

I suggest an elaborate system of mirrors.
you can grow the plants with a lamp
A heat lamp will kill your plants. It puts out infra red energy (heat) which is not what your plants need to grow. The first choice would be a "grow" light. This bulb puts out light closer to normal sunshine (these bulbs are more expensive than normal bulbs). The second choice would be a compact fluorescent.
You need a grow light go on google and type in grow lights you can find what you need Good Luck
The popular solution is LED lamps.
It emits little heat.
Grow light really the best choice, while it cost a lot.
So maybe you can use some lamps or bulbs for instead.
LED in different colors give wave of different length:
royal blue :445nm 440nm~460nm
blue: 470nm 460~490nm
cyan :505nm 490~520nm
green: 530nm 520~550nm
red :627nm 620~645nm
red-orange: 617nm 613~620nm
amber:590nm 585~597nm
We can find blue led (470nm) and red led (627nm) can give the light the plant needed.
Try lamp of this kind, http://www.ledlightsworld.com/remote-controlled-color-changing-million-color-led-bulb-1×5w-p-125.html, use a control to get the red and blue light.
Or you can use one red led and one blue led at the same time, that’s will be better.
Hope can help.
