I am currently in the process of trying to get more leads for a family run landscaping business. Its well established and usually does upscale work. It has about 15 employees and that do almost anything landscape related. It is also located in a well populated suburban/urban area.
I really need help in reaching new customers, any ideas would be well appreciated!

Your best bet is through Google or Yahoo local listings. The search engines are showing local results now, so you do not even need a website to take advantage of it, just list your business in the search engines.
Here is a more detailed post about ranking a business on Google, even if you do not have a website
Email promotions are a great way to get your name out to many people quickly and free. You can also join business networks to pass your name out to even more people. Joining a social network will get your name out to the world and can increase your customer base.
ye, bizowner is right. email promotion is great. And you can also go for more ways like postcard marketing.
When it comes to promoting a business, you can’t write off the simplest and most proven techniques in advertising. Even as internet marketing flourishes, the power of print advertising and direct mail marketing can never be underestimated. In fact, many small businesses and even larger firms combine print advertising with online marketing to get the best results.
Hello Colby,
I was also running a family business before but didn’t know how to promote it since I have no idea about marketing. A friend of mine suggested that I go online and advertise my business on free classified ads. I found some good websites and I was happy with the result. People started to come to my site.
I was more surprised when she introduced http://www.MyTwitterMoneyTree.com to me because I didn’t know that social media like Twitter could also be the best way to promote your products. I took the advice and after a couple of days, I received thousands of new customers from Twitter alone.
This discovery led to my success in my home business. Hope you will have the time to explore this as well.
Good luck!
You could team up with real estate developers and offer exclusive promos to their clients. This will be a nice way to target a very specific audience. You could also do a direct mail program, again send an exclusive offer to the recipients. You could do postcard mailing for this. Check out Uprinting.com for printing requirements, they even offer mailing services. Another idea is to join events or trade shows that cater to your target audience. This way you will be able to interact with them and tell them and inform them about your services. Brochures and catalogs are wonderful ways to get the message across. Business cards are also a necessity in these cases. Hope this helps!
