Organic Answer to Cucumber Beetles?

My gf is an avid gardener, though her vegetable garden has a single prolific pest… Cucumber (or Squash) Beetles. She’s tried all sorts of ways to wipe the little swines out, to no avail. She’s trying to keep to an organic growing ethic, but nothing so far seems to work against them; she’s tried releasing ladybugs in her garden, organic-based pesticides… but the bugs just do not give up the ghost.
I’d hate to see her break her organic garden rule over these critters, so – does anyone out there know a good way to get rid of Cucumber Beetles (preferably organic and not napalm-based)? We’re willing to give anything a shot :)

We just got blessed by MIL with a rototiller

new flower bed

my question is what do we add to the soil

peat moss and top soil, or black earth or triple mix

or some or all ?

and for table centerpieces. I want the centerpieces to be small square vases with either a floating flower or with a bunch of flowers tied at the stems or I want to use candles in hurricanes with flowers surrounding them on the table. Thanks for your help.

I’m thinking "Onan’s Seed and Gardening Supply"? Is that good?

I need help with some ideas. Thanks!

I especially mean those "Baby Einstien" videos. Now they are even geared towards infants. Maybe a better was to develop a child’s mind is to take them out into nature, have them make their own art, play with them, make up games with them, stimulate their imaginations… How can planting a baby or toddler in front of a television screen ever be beneficial to a developing mind?

I wear a ballcap but that doesn’t really help. Is there a spray or homeopathic solution to get these pesky insects away from me when I am outside working in the grass and garden? I live in the mountains. They arrive in late spring and don’t leave until early October. It makes it almost impossible to stay outdoors. Our township does not have community spray for the area.

Ruth Stout’s Garden; Part 1 of 3

Part 1 of 3. Famous gardener Ruth Stout shows her coveted secrets, and interesting stories of her life. Having never followed society’s conformities, her gardening techniques are likewise very unique. Quite possibly the simplest way to garden, with no digging, composting, tilling or fertilizing. A video both entertaining and informative.

When I start my seedlings this year, would it do any good to soak them for a few minutes before planting, or just water them in the potting soil? Is there any difference in germination?

What gardening/lawn product would work best?

Ny bf’s backyard is mostly a patio. with a small shed & a little pond. We are planning to go back there and fix it up but, weeds and grass are between the "spaces" on the deck. He’s afraid if we clean it all up it will just all grow back, but I’m sure there is some kind of spray or something we could place out there to prevent that. Any suggestions?
