It is about 15 feet long and 5 feet deep. The soil is not the best but is decent. It doesn’t get the sun until about 11am then only until about 4 or 5pm.
What kind of flowers should I plant in here?? I bought some seeds for Dianthus, Monarda, and Oriental Poppies but would these all go together?? Any other suggestions?
Also, should I start the seeds inside or is it okay to plant them out there?
Thanks!

How much gardening are you allowed to do in a property rented from a private Landlord?
I am renting a house which has a garden. Can I trim bushes, plant things or cut trees which broke due to heavy snow?

I am interested in nutitional veggies, not perfect looking tastless ones. I used a well know flower and veggie plant food last year (Miracle Grow) makes nice flowers. The fruit did not taste sweet and the skins were thick and tough. I have added more garden soil and composted manure this year but I want something more to boost the crop in quantity and taste. Any suggestions? Or should that be enough? I am looking for a home made organic fertilizer, any tried and true recipes? I am planning on sharing what ever grows with family and neighbors. so I am hoping for a bumper crop. I am growing lots of tomatos, cucumbers, some watermelon, carrots, yellow beans,radishes,chives,parsley..oh yes flowers lots. I wanted more but ran out of garden darn!
I am looking for a market brand organic liquid or powder veggie food. I will try the others in different parts of my garden and experiment. I really want lots to harvest I love fresh plentiful veggies!
I have started composting my veggie peels,leaves, fruit,grass clippings,egg shells,coffee grinds,tea leaves,but for now I need something else.

I live in Pennsylvania and have a house on a corner lot, so there’s some sun in the morning but not a lot later in the day because there’s not many windows on the back of the house. I would like to get a few plants that don’t need a lot of light. I have a fern and a spider plant, which seem to do well enough, but I’d like to find a few more. They need to be smaller (not a fig tree for example) and I’d prefer not to hang them from the ceiling. if anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

I am looking for what the hard packed light brown colored walkway material is called. Its used in garden pathways normally. Its like dirt but doesn’t kick up and is almost sort of sandy.
Thanks!

I have a nice boxed off area that used to have a hot tub from a previous house owner. I would love to plant a garden, but after tilling the soil I noticed that it is kind of sandy. I live in Ohio. I plan on growing (hopefully) Tomatoes, Japs, Cucumber, Romaine, Bell Pepper, Okra, Squash, Strawberries, Watermelon, Onions, Carrots and Green Beans. Will these plants grow in sandy soil?

I just planted some jalapeno peppers and some tomato plants 2 days ago and I want to add some good rich organic fertilizer to them. I looked some stuff up on the internet and mostly found stuff with chemicals in it. I want completely Organic and safe! No chemicals please! Any tips for some luscious peppers and tomatoes. This is my first attempt at growing stuff and I want to do a good job. Any suggestions?

I live in NE USA (Maine), I usurally wait until spring and snow gone and frost out of ground, sometimes the season doesn’t seem long enough, so I want to start inside, with seed and have healthy seedlings to put in ground.

I’ve got these plants on the patio where the cats have access. I’ve looked at several websites of lists of poisonous plants; just looking to see if anyone else has any input. I also have a rose geranium plant, is it safe to assume this one is poisonous (regular geranium is poisonous)? Wanna keep my plants and my cats safe, Thanks.

I’m doing an extra-credit presentation on this military disaster, and I’ve already tried wikipedia.org. Specifically, I need troop numbers, commanders, supplies, and a time-line of the battle. Please, if you know of any good sites with this kind of information, post them. Thanks.

Our house is about 1200 sq feet, and we would like to do some modest landscaping in the front flower beds. We will probably have someone else do it, and wanted to know about how much it costs. Thank you!
We just have an empty flowerbed in the front and an empty flowerbed on the side of the house, following in the sidwalk. Both aren’t very big, one is probably 15 feet long and the other 8 feet.

All of the books I have read, say that you MUST use certified seed potatoes. Is there any reason I shouldn’t seed out some of the organic fingerling potatoes I already have? I can understand not using regular storebought potatoes, but shouldn’t organic be okay? Same question about sweet potatoes. Any tips or advice will be appreciated!

scapes, or landscaping would have to be in the name also something not to long for a logo, and nothing that reflects mowing or maintenance

I know that compost is generally added to the soil, and then tilled in, but would a garden grow in only compost? And would it grow well?

I know it’s late in the season, I’m just curious if there are any plants or flowers that could stand to be planted and still bloom.
