Vegetable garden competition?

As times are tough and people are starting to get miserable i was want to have a ‘vegetable garden growing competition’ in my community. what do people think of this idea and any good ideas?
Is there any way i could get other businesses on board? would people want to do it? is this even a good idea? what do you think?

i think that would be an ok idea becuse not everyone likes to garde. another way to make ppl happy and bring people together is have ing a block party. My street has had one for 6 yrs and it’s great. just put a note in mail boxes
-day -time -first annuel block party-and tell each guess to bring a dish of food and to phone/email what they are bringing nothing big because lots of people will be there! Plan some simple games like this year we had a bike rodeo and kids brought there bike and made a parade and small dollar store prizes in the end.!
